    Open-rank, 9-month, tenure track

The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication (ALEC) at the University of Georgia invites applications for an open-rank search with specialization in any of the department’s core areas of emphasis. This is a 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position with responsibilities in research and instruction. We welcome applications from researchers conducting theory-driven, engaged scholarship with applied, translational implications from a strong social scientific foundation. Applicants should be trained in advanced quantitative data analysis skills (e.g., modeling, mediation, and moderation analysis) and mixed methods design, and be prepared to teach existing and develop new research-oriented courses for our undergraduate and rapidly growing M.S. and Ph.D. curricula.

The strongest applicants will demonstrate the following:

    1. A clearly-defined research program and a strong trajectory toward tenure (if applicable) and promotion in rank, evidenced by a publication record and/or the potential for publication in relevant top-tier peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of national or international prominence in the field.

    2. The ability to translate their research findings for practitioners and agricultural stakeholders.

    3. Evidence of the ability and motivation to ensure the sustainability of their research program by securing external funding.

    4. The ability to contribute substantively to growing M.S. and Ph.D. programs through student mentoring about the research process, and demonstration of contemporary and high-level teaching and research methods.

    5. Teaching excellence in undergraduate and graduate courses in their respective area of expertise, and the ability to teach a range of courses.

Please contact Dr. Jessica Holt, jaholt@uga.edu, Search Committee Chair, with questions.
