Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas is hiring an Assistant Professor, Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Agriculture. The Sustainable Agriculture program is completing a significant expansion in curriculum offerings to upgrade the career certificate, broaden course offerings and provide more in depth preparation for work in market farming or related fields in sustainable ag and food systems. The expanded program will also provide pathways for students who decide to pursue higher level degrees at transfer institutions for careers in food systems, food policy, education, etc. The new faculty member will be largely responsible for implementing these program changes, teaching courses, and overseeing our 3-acre campus farm lab as well as potential additional off campus sites. A background in both sustainable ag as well as environmental studies is highly desirable.
