The Plant Science Department at California State Polytechnic University Pomona invites applications from teacher-scholars for a tenure track appointment to begin Fall 2024. We are seeking an Assistant Professor of Plant Science – Ethnic Studies Affinity.

The announcement link below describes the position, the qualities we are searching for in candidates, and information on how to apply:

The person appointed to this position will teach in one or more areas of PLANT SCIENCE that integrate one or more of the four foundational ethnic studies disciplines: African American, Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x, Indigenous People/s, and Asian American and Pacific Islander studies. Alternatively, the successful candidate will teach in an area of ETHNIC STUDIES that aligns with one or more Plant Science subdisciplines (please linked position description above).

This is a very important position to our department and the individual who is selected will have the opportunity to join a growing program within the University’s Office of Interdisciplinary Ethnic Studies Teaching and Scholarship (OIES).

We welcome applications from individuals at various stages of their academic careers, such as advanced ABD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty on both tenure and non-tenure tracks, teaching faculty, scholars in contingent roles, those in research and teaching positions outside of traditional academia, as well as independent scholars, to submit their applications. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. by the start of employment.
