    Dear all,

Announcing a new opportunity to join our collaborative research project under the Future Cities Lab Global, ‘Agropolitan Territories in Monsoon Asia.’ It focuses on the possible threats that urbanisation and agriculture pose to sustainable development. Our approach to these threats is guided by a vision for agropolitan territories which hybridise urban and rural settlement patterns for sustainable regional development. The role focuses on understanding how different actors and organizations (household, smallholder, provincial and national governments) interact to shape agropolitan territories. Social, technological and environmental aspects of these interactions are considered. The research is structured around a comparison across three case study sites.

This post is for a research position with the opportunity to extend via successful application to our PhD programme  under my supervision in the NUS Department of Architecture. We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in urban design, urban planning, landscape architecture, or a related discipline with proficiency with mapping tools such as QGIS and ArcGIS; experience with 3D modelling software such as City Engine a plus. As well as experience conducting participatory action research, community outreach, qualitative surveys or other social science field studies.
