    FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
    The Natural Sciences Department at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College is currently seeking applicants with expertise in the interdisciplinary study of food, food systems, food production and distribution, food culture and food and health, to teach food studies courses.

    Other responsibilities include teaching undergraduate biology classes; curriculum development; research and scholarly activities leading to professional growth; student guidance; participation in departmental and college assignments; and other tasks normally associated with a full-time teaching position.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution

    Preferred Qualifications:
    - Doctoral degree or equivalent from an accredited university in the disciplines of Biology/Food Studies
    - Teaching experience in a diverse environment
    - Evidence of significant achievement in the field, continued growth and effectiveness in teaching and ability to provide leadership in interdisciplinary research and action in the area of Food Studies
    - Evidence of community outreach and interactions
    - Availability to work evening and weekend hours
    - Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
    COMPENSATION
    Salary commensurate with education and experience.
