FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Natural Sciences Department at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College is currently seeking applicants with expertise in the interdisciplinary study of food, food systems, food production and distribution, food culture and food and health, to teach food studies courses.
Other responsibilities include teaching undergraduate biology classes; curriculum development; research and scholarly activities leading to professional growth; student guidance; participation in departmental and college assignments; and other tasks normally associated with a full-time teaching position.

Ph.D. degree in the areas of Biology, Food Studies, Agricultural Sciences, Food Sciences, Public Health or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship, recognition, leadership qualities, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution
- Doctoral degree or equivalent from an accredited university in the disciplines of Biology, Food Studies, Agricultural Sciences, Food Sciences or Public Health
- Teaching experience in a diverse environment
- Evidence of significant achievement in the filed
- Leadership in interdisciplinary research and action in the area of Food Studies
- Evidence of community outreach and interactions
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours
- Bilingual skills
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
