Knowing Food.  The Association for the Study of Food and Society and the Agriculture, Food, and Human Values Society invite interested scholars and practitioners to engage with the idea of knowing food. How do we know what we know and what do we do with that knowledge? We especially seek papers that highlight under-represented people and cultures. In addition to papers, panels, posters and roundtables, we particularly encourage experiential sessions in which the material and the intellectual, theoretical and practical can overtly intersect. Boston University has two teaching kitchens which you may request for experiential sessions.

Standard review deadline: November 19, 2022

Late review deadline: January 15, 2023

For standard review submissions, authors will be notified of acceptance by mid-December 2022. For late review  submissions, authors will be notified of acceptance by early March 2023. All presenters must be registered for the conference by April 15, 2023 to be included in the program.
