    Nutrition/Food Service Management Teaching Associate 

    The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University invites applicants for a full time nutrition/food service management teaching associate position to begin in August 2018.  The department seeks a high-energy faculty member with expertise in food/beverage/hospitality management with an interest in nutrition.

     Responsibilities:

     This individual will teach undergraduate courses in food safety, food science, quantity food preparation, food service management for dietetic and food studies students; advise undergraduate students, provide service to the program, department, college, or university; and establishing professional liaisons with organizations in the local community and the global field.

     Qualifications:

     Minimum qualifications of a master’s degree in Nutrition or related field, and teaching experience at the university level.  Dietetic registration preferred.  Experience with accreditation of either nutrition/dietetics programs desirable.

    The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in nutrition, public health and food studies. The department focus is on health issues among diverse populations. Approximately 500 undergraduate and 40 graduate students pursue degrees in this department.  Extensive opportunities exist for collaboration at Syracuse University, with the State University of New York (SUNY) and community-based agencies in the Syracuse area.  The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition is a leader in the University's emphasis on publicly-engaged scholarship and applications from scholars with engaged research portfolios are encouraged to apply.
