    NUTRITION POSITION

     

     The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University invites applicants for a full time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Nutrition to begin in August 2017. The department seeks a high-energy faculty member with expertise in one or more of the following areas: global health/nutrition, nutrition health promotion, nutrition policy, food systems, the food environment, nutrition epidemiology, community nutrition, integrative nutrition, or medical nutrition therapy.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    This individual will develop and maintain an active research program that includes pursuing external funding; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as research methods, nutritional biochemistry, nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, food sciences, and life cycle nutrition; advise undergraduate students, supervise and mentor graduate students; provide service to the program, department, college, or university; and establishing professional liaisons with organizations in the local community and the global field.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate related to nutrition, and evidence of potential to develop external grants, publish peer reviewed research articles and effectively teach at the university level.  We are willing to consider candidates trained in a variety of disciplines but with research and teaching expertise in nutrition.  Dietetic registration preferred.  Experience with accreditation of either nutrition/dietetics desirable.
