The College of Social Sciences (CSS) at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa (UHM) is undertaking a strategic initiative focused on environmental sustainability. The initiative seeks a cluster of three tenure-track assistant professors in complementary social science disciplines who can significantly contribute to this strategic effort. The initiative is aimed at synergizing interdisciplinary research, teaching and outreach that address important aspects of environmental sustainability.

The term “environmental sustainability” in the context of this social science cluster hire, has three foci:

    (1) environmental justice
    (2) climate change (human dimensions)
    (3) resource management (energy, food, water and land).
