We welcome applications from candidates whose research explores and analyzes the interaction of human behavior at one or more scales, from the individual to communities and institutions, with global environmental change and natural resources and their implications for equity and environmental justice. The successful candidate’s interdisciplinary work will incorporate quantitative and qualitative social science approaches applied to relevant coupled human-environmental interaction domains such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, the environment-health nexus, food systems, sustainable cities, energy production and water resources.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a widely recognized and policy-relevant research program that attracts external funding and contributes to the interdisciplinary mission of the department and the university; teach and mentor at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; and contribute to the department, university, and relevant professional societies and community through service, collaboration and engagement.

    Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent granted by the time of appointment. Candidates should demonstrate a clear trajectory for excellence in both research and teaching in a multidisciplinary setting, as well as a demonstrated commitment to enhancing inclusion and diversity in the environmental sciences.

We embrace diversity and seek candidates who will participate in a climate that attracts students of all ethnicities, races, nationalities, and genders.
