    Unit Overview
    The CFANS Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (CFANS ODEI) brings a variety of programs and services to create an inclusive climate for students, staff, and faculty within CFANS. We value a diversity of views and experiences and believe that each person has something to gain from and offer our community through learning, discovery, and outreach.

    Position Overview
    This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to lead an established office with targeted funding to advance the CFANS DEI strategic plan. We are seeking a leader, champion, and change agent to lead CFANS DEI efforts into the future.

    This is a full-time academic administrative appointment, reporting to the Dean and serving on the college’s leadership team. The Assistant Dean will work closely with college leaders across all areas of the organization to effectively leverage initiatives, resources, and tools and track progress against ongoing strategic initiatives. This position requires strong and dynamic leadership, exceptional judgment, superb communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals, constituencies, and communities.

    The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with the University’s Office of Equity and Diversity (UMN OED) to ensure that CFANS efforts are aligned with University-wide policies, programs, and strategic initiatives.

    College Overview
    CFANS is composed of 13 academic departments, 10 research and outreach centers across Minnesota, plus the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, the Bell Museum, and dozens of interdisciplinary centers that span the college, the university, and the globe. CFANS offers thirteen undergraduate majors and thirteen graduate majors, three pre-major/pre-professional programs and 23 minors for undergraduate students. Undergraduate enrollment in the college is about 2000 students. CFANS students are well-prepared for a diverse, multicultural workforce through the college’s emphasis on experiential, interdisciplinary, and intercultural learning; internships and global perspectives.
